Did that just happen?

Having arrived at NYC we did what we have always said we would never do, and drove into Manhattan, in fact to W23rd street (right in the thick of it). We managed to avoid killing anybody, despite all cyclists appearing to have a death wish 🚴. They have a proper NYC attitude….”I am allowed to go up your inside when you are turning left, and if you kill me it’s your fault” πŸ€¨πŸ™„. Having got into Manhattan we then took the car out again to avoid the high (aka rip off) parking charges. We took it out to White Plains and got the train back into Grand Central…and that was when it happened.

Firstly, a picture of Mr Al Patch outside Pearls diner in downtown Manhattan….then, a picture of Mr Nev Taylor in downtown Manhattan….then, a picture of the Pearls menu. That is good AI image manipulation we thought, then we realised neither of them was capable of that meaning….THEY WERE IN MANHATTAN, OMG!!! What followed was a totally unexpected and utterly joyous couple of days 😁. We honestly didn’t think anybody was going to meet us on this stage, and there they were.

Either as a 4 or as a 2 we then spent time in the 911 museum (new for us), in Bryant park, in Central Park, at the Edge, on the High Line, at the USS Intrepid (new for us), at The Empire State, at One Tower, at Grand Central and generally walking in/exploring other parts of Manhattan. A good visit. We didn’t make it to Brooklyn this time, perhaps something for the future!

Tomorrow we pick the car up, avoid knocking cyclists off and then head for Philadelphia.

Inexplicable big things update – yes we found more. See the Gallery for further update
